Paperback has wear to edges of cover, edges of spine and corners of cover. There is rubbing, mild scuffing and a couple of corners have creases. There is an old price sticker to the top left of the front cover. There is a small patch of superficial peeling to the lower right corner of the back cover. Small dog-earing to the bottom and top corners. Pages have an indentation about a third of the way down the long margin. Mild to moderate tanning to pages. One word found highlighted in yellow, none others found on inspection (although there could be others).

This book discusses the 1880s land boom in Victoria as a result of the goldrush, which was followed by the great depression. The author tells the story of men who created or were bemused by the land boom and their own triumph or destruction.
