Outside:
The dust jacket is intact. It appears the flaps have been adhered to the front and rear covers. The whole book is covered in a plastic cover. There are tears and rips to the plastic at the edges. There is some shelf wear to the dust jacket itself to edges/ends/corners, with rubbing, minor creasing to edges and a couple of small tears and a little peeling at corners. There is a library call-sticker on the spine.
The hardcover is intact. As the dust jacket is adhered to the hardcover it cannot be examined extensively. However it seems to be in reasonable condition with a little shelf wear (rubbing) to edges, ends and corners as pictured. The gilding on the spine is intact and legible.
The page margins (seen when book is closed) show some discolouration.

The binding is firm and intact.
Inside the front and back covers is clean.
