"This is the first book to provide a definitive but relatively uncomplicated description of evoked scalp responses to acoustic stimuli, including reviews and analyses of measurement techniques and the subject and stimulus variables affecting the response.
For clinical audiologists in particular, this volume represents an essential sourcebook and manual of techniques. It provides a solid foundation of knowledge and experience based upon recent technological developments that have greatly enhanced the practical value of using evoked potential recordings from the scalp for quantitative and qualitative assessments of auditory function.
In addition to describing the technique of evoked response audiometry, the text reviews the finding of other authorities on such topics as the form of the evoked potential in infants, children and adults, and its relationship to behavioural audiometry. It also presents current information about the effects of stimulus and subject parameters on the evoked response and thoroughly reviews the literature on each topic.
'Evoked Response Audiometry is recommended as an introductory text for undergraduate and graduate students and is the most reliable and up-to-date reference manual available on this subject for audiologists and clinical audiometrists."
