"Set in an ancient Viking world full of extraordinary characters, brooding Norse mythology and ferocious battles, Viking Odinn's Child is the stunning first volume in an epic historical trilogy."
"999, the year before the first millennium, marks the birth of Thorgils Leifsson, son of Leif the Lucky and Thorgunna, a mysterious Irish noblewoman gifted with second sight. Virtually orphaned, Thorgils is raised in Iceland and Greenland by various mentors who teach him the ancient ways and warn him of the invasion of the "White Christ" into the land of the "Old Gods".
As a child he reaches Vinland, the furthest outpost in the west, only to witness the disastrous massacre, led by his malevolent aunt, which wipes out their Viking settlement. In Iceland he is caught up in a bloody feud between rival families, and in Ireland taken prisoner in battle and sold as a slave.
Thorgils is a rootless character of quicksilver intelligence and adaptability whose destiny lies beyond the imagination of those around him. A devotee of Odinn, the turbulent events of his life will take him to the brink of death in battle, by disease, and shipwreck..."
